How the Sentricon® Colony Elimination system works. The Sentricon® system takes advantage of natural termite behavior. Worker termite is constantly foraging for wood to feed the colony. When they find wood, such as the monitoring devices in the Sentricon® system, they leave special scent trails to recruit their nest mates to the food source.

Once termites are discovered in the station the monitoring device is replaced with a bait tube containing recruit IV termite bait. The termites then recruit other termites to feed on the bait and also spread the bait throughout the colony. The bait stops the molting process of a termite and in time all the termites will die in the colony.
